A group of leading Ukrainian research and analytical organisations have joined forces to establish the Consortium for Defence Information (CDI), a platform aimed at strengthening informational and analytical support for national security, defence, and geopolitics.
The Consortium currently includes four prominent Ukrainian organisations:
- The Centre for Army, Conversion and Disarmament Studies
- Defence Express
- The New Geopolitics Research Network
- The Centre for Communication and Content Security
Mission and Objectives
CDI is focused on providing a systematic approach to addressing Ukraine’s defence and security challenges. Key tasks include:
- Systematic analysis of defence and security threats.
- Developing recommendations for government and military institutions.
- Offering informational support amid hybrid warfare.
- Crafting strategies to advance Ukraine’s defence-industrial complex.
- Fostering international cooperation to bolster Ukraine’s defensive capabilities.
Key Initiatives
The Consortium has already begun producing “Reflections,” a weekly confidential analytical report that addresses the latest national, regional, and global trends. These reports are distributed to select decision-makers at the strategic level.
Additionally, CDI has developed a strategic document titled “Vision of Defence Aspects in the Domestic Victory Plan,” submitted to the relevant presidential task forces.
Strategic Expansion
Looking ahead, CDI aims to expand its operations, becoming a pivotal tool in the development of Ukraine’s defence capabilities. The initiative seeks to unify the efforts of governmental and non-governmental analytical centres.
Founding Members
The Consortium was co-founded by Valentyn Badrak, Mykhailo Samus, Oleksii Izhak, and Serhii Zghurets, all notable figures in the field of defence analysis.
This ambitious project underscores Ukraine’s commitment to enhancing its defence strategies through comprehensive analysis, international collaboration, and innovative solutions.
