The Czech Republic Election Country Report

A collaborative effort by leading experts from GLOBSEC, the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD), Debunk.org, DEN Institute, and Alliance4Europe, this report is a cornerstone of the ‘FIMI Defenders for Election Integrity’ (FDEI) project under FIMI-ISAC.

This report examines the role of Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI) during the 2025 Czech parliamentary elections, held on 3 – 4 October 2025. Although Russian-linked networks attempted to undermine trust in the voting process, no coordinated operations capable of influencing the results were detected. The elections were deemed legitimate and orderly, with minor incidents resolved quickly and strong cooperation among Czech institutions, media, and civil society helping maintain public confidence.

Nonetheless, the elections were still exposed to ongoing vulnerabilities in the Czech information space, including persistent foreign-backed narratives and platform-based amplification. These risks were heightened by widespread public distrust in social media and the government. Even so, high voter turnout highlighted the country’s democratic resilience and the importance of strengthening digital security, platform accountability, and regional cooperation for future electoral processes.
