Dear colleagues,
The New Geopolitics Research Network team appeals to colleagues around the world!
The Armed Forces of Ukraine and the entire Ukrainian people continue to put up heroic resistance to the Russian aggressor. Today, on the battlefields in Ukraine, the European security architecture of our century is being decided.
The Russian systematically destroy civilian infrastructure using aircraft and artillery. Fierce fighting continues on the outskirts of the capital of Kyiv, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians in Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv and many other cities surrounded by the enemy are trying to survive under the daily bombardment. The humanitarian crisis in the war zone is deepening every day. The Kremlin leadership has finally lost the last signs of humanity and is committing genocide against the European nation in central Europe in the 21st century.
The situation is also difficult on the borders of the United Europe with Ukraine, where the largest migration crisis since the World War II is evolving. If the war becomes protracted, this situation will become a heavy burden on the economies of Ukraine’s neighbor countries.
Moreover, shelling and seizure of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Station (the largest in Europe and the third largest in the world) is not just another military crime against Ukraine, but a manifestation of nuclear terrorism and the actual declaration of nuclear war throughout Europe.
Farther steps of the aggressor will vastly depend on the reaction of the world. Europe, the United States and NATO must immediately help the Ukrainian government protect critical civilian infrastructure, including Ukraine’s nuclear power plants. The main priority is to save the lives and safety of millions of Ukrainians who face the constant threat of Russian missile or air strikes on their homes and shelters in all parts of their homeland.
In this regard the New Geopolitics Research Network team asks you to send this appeal to the relevant institutions of your government with a request to expand the range of assistance to Ukraine.
Here are the effective steps that the free world must undertake to halt the collapse of Europe’s security system:
– Setting up a «Lend-Lease» for Ukraine – providing Ukrainian forces with air defense systems and military aircrafts that are in desperate need to defend Ukrainian sky.
– Establish no-fly zone over Ukraine (at least over nuclear power plants and critical civil infrastructure).
– Completely disconnect all Russian banks from the SWIFT network.
– Impose embargo on Russian oil and gas.
– Terminate any cooperation with Russian business abroad.
Ukraine’s victory will ensure the sustainable security of European states and pave the way for democratic transformations in the region and in Russia itself.
Europe simply has no right to watch «with deep concern» how Russia’s ferocious «Leviathan» is crushing the neighboring state, tearing apart its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The time of pathetic declarations and bargaining is over – we need to act today and now. The price of every wasted hour is measured in dozens of human casualties.
